A Nanny / Housekeeper is a hugely popular choice for modern families and one of the most requested job types. ‘Multi-tasking’ and ‘flexibility’ are keywords in so many workplaces these days and private homes are no exception.
Some parents are at home full time, or very hands-on, but still need some childcare back-up. They often like to employ a Nanny/Housekeeper who is happy to fulfil the housekeeping duties, but also knows how to change a nappy/entertain a toddler/help at children’s tea time and who can be relied upon to look after the children sole charge when busy parents have to get on with other urgent tasks or leave the house.
A Nanny / Housekeeper offers flexibility, with an emphasis to suit the client and the schedule of the family. For instance, 70/30 or 80/20 housekeeping and childcare during term time and perhaps 50/50 or 60/40 during school holidays could be a pattern that works for some. Expectations need to be managed carefully when employing a Nanny / Housekeeper – for example, one cannot reasonably expect her to care for a young child or baby whilst maintaining the highest level of standards in a seven-bedroom house – it’s just not possible!
Our Nanny / Housekeepers are:
• Very experienced, capable and child friendly, though not necessarily qualified in childcare.
• Able to assist with both child-related duties and complete housekeeping tasks, as set out in the job description.
• Usually highly experienced in working for private clients within private homes.
