After-School Nanny Job, Kensington

A warm and welcoming family in Kensington is seeking a nurturing, proactive, and experienced nanny to care for their two daughters, aged 7 and 5. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in working with older children and who is passionate about supporting their development, independence, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • School pick-ups for both children

  • Supporting homework and school-related tasks

  • Taking the children to after-school activities and classes (alongside the housekeeper when needed)

  • Encouraging good manners, responsibility, and independent habits (e.g., tidying up, polite communication, etc.)

  • Managing the children’s laundry and wardrobe (preparing uniforms, checking for wear and tear, setting aside outgrown clothes)

  • Arranging playdates once a week

  • Creating a balanced weekly meal plan aligned with school lunches, ordering groceries, and preparing nutritious meals (in collaboration with the family’s other nanny)

  • Overseeing the children’s evening routine: bath time, hair drying, skincare, bedtime stories if parents are not home

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

  • Weekend hours are flexible and can be discussed based on the nanny’s availability and desired hours

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with primary school-aged children

  • Organized and proactive, with a kind and encouraging approach

  • Strong communicator with a focus on manners and positive discipline

  • Able to commit to regular weekday afternoons and occasional weekends

  • Lives locally or within an easy commute to

  • Comfortable working in a shared-care environment with a housekeeper and the children’s mother

Pay rate £22 -£25 per hour 

This role is perfect for someone who has other commitments in the mornings but is looking for a fulfilling and steady afternoon/evening position with a lovely family.
