Assistant Houseparent Job
This school is a small, co-educational, boarding and day school set in a large, beautiful estate on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border. They are a day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 2-18, providing a progressive education for today’s world. They develop enquiring minds and independent thinkers through respect, honesty, humility, integrity and courage. They are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic assistant to work with their boys boarding house during weekends and weekday evenings. Working with the Houseparents, this position will further enhance the pastoral care of their boarding community.
The Role:
Being on duty during the week and at the weekends as rostered.
Being visible and available to boarders during nominated hours of duty.
Being on call overnight, according to the duty rota.
Taking charge of the duty mobile phone when on duty to ensure parents and guardians are able to make contact at all times.
Ensuring emails are checked in advance of the start of term, and at the end of term, in case of emergencies.
Ensuring effective communication with parents, guardians and agents when necessary.
Liaising with the dry-cleaning company to organise the collection and delivery of dry cleaning.
Organising the sorting and distribution of dry cleaning to all boarders
General filing & administrative tasks.
Assisting with checking bedrooms for tidiness before the students go to school.
You:

Hours: Five nights per week working 4.30pm - 10.30pm active duty, on call overnight and then 07.30 - 09.30am the following morning
Accommodation: Self-contained accommodation will be provided within the grounds
