Switzerland Couple Job

A returning respected client of Greycoat Lumleys is seeking an experienced and energetic Domestic couple to be based in Switzerland. The couple should have verifiable references that qualify working in a private home with high standards.

They should be comfortable working in a household with children and happy to assist with any childcare requirement that might be requested. A polyvalent approach to daily tasks is required and candidates should have a wide-ranging existing skills set as well as the right work attitude and energetic approach to the changing requirements of the household.

The successful candidates will have a successful track record of working as a couple and have the upmost discretion and housekeeping standards showing genuine care for the presentation of all rooms and exterior areas. Both must be drivers and speak a good level of English. A proactive nature and a service mentality are obviously incredibly important assets and pre-requisite for this position.

  • Location: Private property    

  • Start Date: Flexible  

  • Salary Range: dependent on experience and strength of candidates – CHF 6,000 Gross per person

  • Live in or Live out: Accommodation on site can be provided of a good standard. Some overnights in staff accommodation are required

  • Travel: Occasional travel with the family may be requested  

  • Accommodation Details: can be provided and is of a good standard

  • Languages required (including level): Good English level would facilitate things. Otherwise, good French with Italian or German

  • Working Days & Hours: Changing seasonality of demands usually 10 Hours of work per day with a 1 hour break. Flexibility within the hours protected by Swiss labor law

  • Passport / Visa requirement: Would Need an E.U passport or existing Swiss work permit

  • Driving: Is required from both candidates 

  • Pet care / Pets in the house: Yes some simple feeding of household pets is required

Daily duties required are listed below, please note that this is not an exhaustive list and there might be other requirements.  

The Gentleman:

  • Daily housekeeping

  • Pool cleaning

  • Outdoor area cleanliness (gardener comes once per week)

  • Car cleaning

  • Odd driving of us to places or picking up children

  • Play football with children or be available to children too when requested.

The Lady:

  • Laundry

  • Childcare as required

  • Driving children

  • Household organisation

Either or:

  • Cooking

  • Shopping for groceries and other household goods 

  • Post office runs

  • Animal care

  • Window cleaning 

The role is based on a 5-day working week and there may on occasion be the request to travel with the family. Swiss work contracts are of course on offer with this position. The role will usually require 10 hours of work per day with a 1 hour break.

The position requires candidates who are astute enough to know formal protocol and respect the private space of the principals yet friendly and open enough around children. The ability to blend into the family dynamic and be a support to everyone in the household is key.
