Graduate Sports & Boarding Assistant Job

I am working with a college that is set in 32 acres, close to the vibrant cities of Cambridge and Colchester, along with the charming market towns of Saffron Walden, Bury St Edmunds, and Sudbury, offers our students and staff a delightful, gridlock-free journey to school. Our beautiful, secluded parking offers an abundance of parking for staff and senior students.

They are looking for a Graduate Sports and Boarding Assistant to Join their Dynamic Team

The Role

  • Assist in the teaching of PE and games lessons across all age groups year 7- year 13.

  • Assist in the daily running of the extra-curricular sports programme (lunchtime and after school) to include team practices, one to one coaching sessions and activities as required by the department.

  • Assist with the Whole School Sports Day and House sports events and other activities.

  • Assist with external sporting trips.

  • Coaching the major games for each term during games sessions.

  • Assist in managing and officiating senior teams.

  • Carry out boarding duties as delegated by the Head of Boarding and Assistant Head of Boarding, to ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of Boarders at all times

  • Supervise mealtimes and support students on laundry and general tidiness and organisation.

  • Supervise prep sessions and ensure Boarders are utilising their private study time and receiving support where needed.

  • Manage wakeups and bedtimes and ensure all boarders have sufficient rest and bedtime routines are maintained.

  • Run evening activities and provide general pastoral care.

  • Can make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school including co- curricular activities and assemblies.

  • Will have professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of Stoke College and maintain high standards in your own attendance and professional standards.

  • Will be an excellent role model for compliance with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection and Safeguarding and attend Safeguarding training as required.
