Full time Head Chef Job for a Mallorca based Retreat business
A new Client of Greycoat Lumleys with a beautiful and successful retreat, spiritual & consciousness center on the amazing Island of Mallorca in the Balearics has approached us to find them a capable and experienced Head Chef.
The property is extensive and set in large grounds, there are 30 bedrooms and several other houses within the 47 acres. The property makes its own Olive oil and has cultured a fermentation process onsite.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in all dietary restrictions and be able to cater to Vegetarian, plant based and vegan diets especially. They should also be at least confident Spanish speakers, be incredibly kind, calm and proficient in team leadership. The ideal cnadiate will already be on the island and have a good understanding of its culture and pace of life.

Ideally the candidate should have at least 3-5 years leading a team
Must have professional training
Must be very skilled in Gluten free & vegetarian food.
Must be very comfortable/fluent in Spanish
Must have own Accommodation on the island
Needs to be a driver with own car as the location is a bit rural
Not just private cheffing. Yacht and restaurant/hotel experience preferred.
Must be interested in the wellbeing space
Interested in the spiritual space
Looking for a long-term commitment - that has a strong foothold in collaboration with team and not solely based in hierarchy
Due to the nature of this position, the client will seek a 4-month probationary time.
The Head chef will be experienced enough to lead a team of 10 and will work in a modern commercial kitchen. The working day will not exceed 9 hours and the Head chef will need to be able to work with volume and well as precisely for smaller groups. The operation is run like a small boutique hotel but is a privately owned residence.
Needless to say this is a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate as the client pays for health insurance on top of EU health cover, the role offers 28 says of Paid annual leave per annum as well as an advised salary of €75,000 Gross per annum and the candidate would be protected by a full Spanish contract. The role will also offer the right candidate a more stable rhythm to work and life.
