Governess / Governor, Lagos, Nigeria, Starting As Soon As Possible

A very reputable and influential family living in Lagos, Nigeria, are looking for a responsible, professional knowledgeable Governess / Governor, for their children aged 9 and 4.

The candidate is required to have a lengthy experience in childcare, with a strong educational background; the candidate must be used to work as a part of a team, used to work in fully staffed household and able to travel globally with the family.

The ideal candidate has a hands-on approach, positive attitude in their teaching methods, is very proactive, able to teach etiquette and manners and to be a positive role model for the children.

The family takes its privacy very seriously, as such, the candidate must understand the

need for discretion in handling the children and family information and activities.

Focus of the role will be serving as a tutor in aiding with schoolwork, exam preparations and promote cognitive development in the children as well as other skills and talents,

and aid in preparing the child for advance placements in the best foreign schools.

Apply only if you have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject; Master’s degree is an advantage.

Duties:

  • Education & Skill Development: American Curriculum

  • Schedule Preparation & Daily Activities for the kids

  • Create and implement age appropriate activities

  • Organize educational outings to take the children on and play with the kids in a fun, yet educational way.

  • Support with homework and school related assignments

  • Child’s Health & Safety at home and during outdoor activities

  • Dietary Values & Nutrition

  • Etiquette and Manners

  • Wardrobe and Room Management

Requirements:

  • Schedule: 6 days per week; hours to be confirmed

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education; MSc in education is an added advantage

  • Qualifications: Childcare

  • Minimum 9 years experience as a Governess

  • Education and experience in Occupational therapy is an added advantage

  • Certificate in Professional Governess Services will be a big bonus

  • First Aid Certification / Training

  • Applicants with TEFL Teaching Qualification is added advantage.

  • Other staff employed: Fully staffed household

  • Travel: Yes

  • Salary: $4,000 – $7,000 per month, depending on experience

  • Accommodation: Separate from main residence

  • Start date: As Soon As Possible
