Live in Couple Job in Somerset

A fantastic position to work for a lovely client of Greycoat Lumleys who are looking for an experienced Couple (Gardener/Handyman & Housekeeper) to work at their beautiful residence in stunning Somerset. The family reside in a 6-bedroom property on approx. 80 acres of land (approx. 4 acres of garden). They have grown up children and 2 dogs. They also have a property in London. They travel abroad approximately 10 weeks a year.

The garden compromises of lawns, hedges, rose beds, a greenhouse and a lake.

The ideal couple will be hardworking, knowledgeable, experienced, proactive and energetic.  A knowledgeable Gardener would be highly desirable

Main Duties

  • All housekeeping duties to include cleaning, laundry and ironing

  • General tidying

  • Wardrobe management

  • Silver polishing

  • Taking deliveries and running errands

  • Preparing simple meals

  • Maintaining several outbuildings

  • Assistance when the principals are entertaining

  • Managing the property

  • Gardening duties to include informal and formal gardening

  • Use and maintenance of garden machinery

  • Some Household maintenance duties (basic DIY and minor repairs)

  • Occasional driving duties

  • Security when the family are away 

  • House and pet sitting

Accommodation: a temporary 4 bedroom Farmhouse until the permanent accommodation (2/3 bedroom cottage) is built, which should be completed within the next 6-9 months. The accommodation is on the estate but very separate. Pets will be considered.

Working Week: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

Start date: December

Driver: Essential one must drive

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 GPA, depending on experience
