Live in Couple Job in Berkshire  

A lovely returning client of Greycoat Lumleys is looking for an experienced and hardworking couple to join their weekend residence in Berkshire. We placed their current couple 6 years ago, who are now retiring. The ideal candidates must be flexible and work well together.  

The principals have grown up children who visit at weekends on occasion.   There are a few guinea fowl at the property.   

The responsibilities within the 11-acre garden will include:

  • Lawn and tree and garden work

  • General countryside skills helpful

  • There is a beautiful river running through the property which must be kept clean and tidy

  • Reasonable plant and flower knowledge necessary

  • Maintenance of the interior and exterior of the buildings

  • Property security

  • Occasional driving duties

  • Periodically will be expected to provide maintenance work, and help with entertainment in owners London property, mostly during normal working hours

 The responsibilities within the main residence will include:

  • Housekeeping, cleaning and shopping

  • Laundry and ironing

  • Maintaining the soft furnishings within the property

  • Preparing occasional meals when required and maybe some help with dinner and lunch parties.

  • Supervision of a once a week part time gardener

  • Periodically will be expected to help with entertainment in owners London property, mostly during normal working hours

 Attention to detail is key and the property must be kept to a high standard at all times.

 This is a fantastic role for the right couple who have a cheerful and flexible attitude which is key for this position. The working week is Monday to Friday but weekend work maybe required with days off in lieu.  This is a weekend home for the owners so independent initiative, attention to security and a sense of responsibility for the property is important.  For this reason seven days a week occupancy is expected. 

Start: December / January

Days & Hours: Monday to Friday: 8/9am – 5pm. Occasional weekend work will be required

Accommodation: 3-bedroom cottage with a separate kitchen and living area with own entrance and garden. Small pets welcome.

Drivers: Ideally both to drive. A Land Rover is provided for working hours.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
