A lovely family in Surrey are looking for an experienced Couple to work for them at their beautiful Estate. The principals have 3 children (23, 21 & 18 years old), 3 dogs, 2 hens, a horse and a pony. The house is a beautiful old 5 bedroom farmhouse with its own staff cottage. There is also a fabulous converted barn for entertainment and parties etc, a gym, greenhouses and a kitchen garden with about 8.5 acres of land in total. They are  situated on a quiet country lane in stunning countryside with a lovely large garden, incorporating a swimming pool and tennis court which you are invited to use by arrangement and enjoy in return for your hard work. The property is in rural countryside but also very well situated close to major towns and London itself.

The ideal couple will be energetic, hardworking, proactive, trustworthy and animal friendly. They are looking for a Couple to help them with the day-to-day chores around the house and garden, which both require lots of attention and to ensure the security of the whole property.

Housekeeper duties

  • Daily cleaning of house, weekly cleaning of barn, gym  (approx. 25 hours a week of housework)
  • Laundry & Ironing
  • Running errands and shopping
  • Dog care and house sitting while employers are away; including walking, feeding, letting dogs out at regular intervals and putting to bed
  • Working outside in the garden in the afternoons depending on progress/ priorities (approx. 15 hours a week of gardening and animal duties)

Gardener/Maintenance duties

  • Maintenance of grounds and garden, including:
    • Lawn mowing, hedge trimming etc
    • flower bed tending
    • general clearing
    • shredding and burning
    • woodcutting
    • pest control
  • Some help up at the stables on weekdays – feeding and mucking out the horses etc (approx. 20 minutes a day)
  • Help with the kitchen garden and greenhouse
  • Maintaining the swimming pool and tennis court
  • Security of house and grounds
  • Ensuring that all wood baskets are fully stocked, wood burners cleared
  • Feeding and care of poultry
  • Maintaining and painting outbuildings including clearing gutters
  • Dog care and house sitting while employers are away; including walking, feeding, letting dogs out at regular intervals and putting to bed
  • Occasional driving / shopping / car valeting
  • Repairs and maintenance where possible

Accommodation: a separate 3 bedroom cottage with your own private garden with lovely views. All utility bills, including Sky TV & Wifi are included. You will also have sole use of a 2021 Seat Arona car, including insurance and petrol when used for work purposes. You will be required to cover petrol for your own private use. Ideally no pets but they might be considered for the right couple.

Start: End of August

Working days & hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Salary: £70,000 gross per annum, negotiable for the right couple
