Live out Housekeeper Job in Bruton, Somerset
We have an exciting opportunity with a returning client of Greycoats. They are seeking a dedicated housekeeper to care for their beautiful 7-bedroom farmhouse in Somerset, situated on 300 acres of land. The family maintains informal yet high standards.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, possess a positive and proactive attitude, and enjoy working with others. The family consists of four children, ranging in age from a baby to 8 years old. They also have two dogs, a cat, a pig, and horses, so being animal-friendly is essential. Experience with horses is a plus, but not a requirement.
On-site, you will work alongside a full-time groundskeeper and an estate manager, to whom you will report, as well as a full-time nanny. This role is dynamic and varied, with no two days being the same. The entire team collaborates and supports one another, making it a great environment to work in and for teamwork.
Duties to include:
- Housekeeping to a high standard
- Organisation of the home
- Laundry, ironing and fabric care to include dry cleaning
- Preparing the guest cottage for guests
- Provisioning for the household
- Running errands and shopping
- Driving duties Shared with the Nanny and Mum
- Animal care shared with the other staff
- Liaising with contractors
- Very Occasional house sitting/ Animal sitting when the principals are away and the employees who live on-site are not available.
The ideal person would be friendly, relaxed with an unflappable nature. Have good timekeeping skills and organisation skills. You will need to be a driver with a clean license. A communal car is provided for staff.
Start date: As soon as the right person is found.
Working week: Ideally two weeks Monday - Saturday with Sunday Monday off then two weeks Monday - Friday with Saturday and Sunday off. The client will also consider this as a Monday - Friday role although the salary would be offered at the lower end.
Hours: 40 hours a week, 9-5 with flexibility to help out during busy periods, time off will be given in lieu or overtime.
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 GPA based on experince, In addition the family typically pay a Christmas bonus every year to their staff.
