Tuesday Restaurant Recommendations - Kaosarn & Barrafina

This week we have two great recommendations from our Permanent Private Chef consultant Zoe.

“One of my favourites is Kaosarn, we used to visit it regularly as we lived very close by. I love the atmosphere, it feels really authentic from the moment you step into the restaurant. The smells are amazing and you feel like you could be sat in a restaurant on the centre of Thailand or at a street market

My favourite dishes are the Gang Kua Sapparod Goong which is an amazing king prawn curry with red curry paste in coconut milk. It’s just delicious! I also love the Larb which is a hot glass noodle salad which is really hot and spicy”

Zoe’s second recommendation is Barrafina. They have multiple restaurants across the city of London and serve Spanish Tapas. Zoe lived in Spain for a year before she worked for Greycoat Lumleys and loves the local cuisine.

“We visited the Barrafina in Covent Garden but I know they have others across London.

The menus changes daily so every time you visit you can try totally different dishes. The Head Chef at their Covent Garden restaurant is Nieves Barragan Mohacho. Her menu takes inspirations from different regions in Spain and they use seasonal ingredients in their dishes.

It is quite modern in the restaurant but you also get the feeling you could be in Seville or San Sebastian. There is an open kitchen as well which is really interested because you get to see all the chefs cooking your dishes from scratch.

The wine list that goes with the food is great. They have a great selection and also match wines to you dishes which is really helpful”
