Chef de Partie Job (ID: 117471) 

Greycoat Lumleys has the pleasure of working with one of the world's leading catering companies to supply their staff for their F1 contract.  This is a very exciting opportunity for a Chef de Partie to join the team.   

The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen at Formula 1 hospitality events. This role involves preparing and cooking high-quality dishes for VIP guests, teams, and corporate clients in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. The Chef de Partie oversees junior staff within their section, ensuring all dishes are prepared to meet the high standards expected in Formula 1’s luxury hospitality operations. 

Key accountabilities

  • Manage a designated section of the kitchen, such as the hot kitchen, cold kitchen, or pastry, depending on your expertise.

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards, ensuring quality and consistency.

  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques as directed by senior chefs, while also bringing creativity to the presentation of dishes.

  • Oversee the work of kitchen assistants within your section, ensuring they are following proper procedures and maintaining high standards.

  • Ensure that all food preparation and cooking tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.

  • Communicate clearly with other sections to ensure a smooth and coordinated service.

  • Ensure that all food produced in your section is of the highest quality in terms of taste, texture, and presentation.

  • Regularly check dishes before they leave the kitchen to ensure they meet Formula 1’s luxury hospitality standards.

  • Maintain portion control and minimise waste in line with kitchen policies.

  • Ensure that your section adheres to all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food.

  • Follow HACCP guidelines and other health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.

  • Keep your section clean and organised at all times, ensuring all surfaces, equipment, and tools are properly sanitized.

  • Assist in managing stock levels for your section, ensuring you have sufficient supplies for the event while minimizing waste.

  • Communicate with the Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef to report any shortages or issues with stock.

  • Help with the correct storage of ingredients, ensuring that all items are fresh and properly labelled.

  • Work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.

  • Communicate clearly with the Sous Chef and Head Chef regarding any challenges, needs, or improvements in your section.

  • Assist in other sections when needed, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to support the overall kitchen team.

  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to the specific event menu and meet the expectations of VIP guests, sponsors, and team members.

  • Adapt dishes or recipes as required, based on guest preferences or dietary requirements, ensuring a top-tier dining experience.

  • Assist in the breakdown and clean-up of the kitchen at the end of service, ensuring that all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and properly stored.

  • Help with post-event kitchen debriefs to evaluate performance and discuss any improvements for future events.

Person specification

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role, preferably in high-end restaurants, hotels, or event catering.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP.

  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff within your section.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and potentially travel internationally as part of the Formula 1 schedule.

Salary - £35,000 GPA – please note this is for a February to December contract
