Live in or Live out Head Housekeeper Job in St Albans, Hertfordshire
A wonderful opportunity to work on a stunning country estate just outside London. Our clients are looking for an experienced Head Housekeeper to manage their team of housekeepers looking after their large 14-bedroom home which has recently undergone a 7-year renovation project. You must have high standards and an excellent eye for detail. We are looking for someone with excellent people management and exceptional organisational skills. There are many antiques and fine furniture, so you must have experience caring for them. Previous experience working in private households is advantageous. The ideal candidate for this role will maintain the general tidiness of the home, be proactive and hands-on, and lead by example. Duties to include:
- Hands-on daily Housekeeping
- Overseeing the laundry and ironing in-house in a state-of-the-art custom-designed laundry
- Care of antiques and fine furnishings
- Managing the team of housekeepers
- Helping when the family entertain
- Helping with the dogs if needed. They have two dogs, two budgies and 11 horses, so you must be animal-friendly
Driving is essential due to the location.
House: 4-storey, 14 bedroom newly renovated house
Accommodation: 2-bedroom apartment for live-in option.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7 am – 12 pm / 5 pm -8 pm, with the flexibility to work occasional weekends. While a split shift is not always required, the hours may vary depending on the requirements and occasion. For example, you may be needed for a daily shift from 7am-4pm or 6am-3 pm or am 8-4pm when the principals are not in residence.
Salary: Live in or Live out up to £45,000 for the right candidate.
