Live in Couple Job in Oxfordshire

An opportunity has arisen for an energetic, proactive, and dedicated couple who are genuinely fond of children, dogs, cats, chickens, and country life to join a busy family in Oxfordshire. The property has 10 bedrooms and is situated on 100 acres which is primarily leased as farm land.

They are a fun and busy family with 4 school-age children (19, 17, 13 & 7 years old) and 4 dogs, 3 cats & chickens. You will be working alongside a team of staff who consist of:

  • Housekeeper/Nanny - Tuesday to Friday
  • Weekend nanny - Friday afternoon 2pm to Monday morning 10am.
  • Estate Manager (mainly exterior) - Monday to Friday
  • Head Gardener - Monday to Friday
  • Household Manager and PA to Principal  - Tuesday to Friday 

Domestic responsibilities: 

  • Cleaning and housekeeping to a very high standard throughout the home.
  • Clothes care, laundry and ironing (care of fine fabrics).
  • Wardrobe and household organisation/management
  • Preparing simple meals for the children/ family on occasion and preparing/washing/peeling vegetables for meals at the weekend as/when required.
  • helping in the kitchen when entertaining guests.
  • Basic Front of House (serving and pouring wine at informal meals)
  • Care and cleaning of high quality furnishings, fine art and fabrics. 
  • Helping with planning family parties and entertaining
  • Occasional teenage/children’s activities supervision or planning.
  • School runs
  • Running errands (post office, dry cleaning, shopping, vets etc)
  • Driving (occasional school run/pick ups)
  • Caring for the family’s pets
  • Pet and house sitting in Employers absence (sole charge in the employers absence).

Grounds/General Household responsibilities

  • Household maintenance and general handy work throughout the house Driving the family
  • Light gardening and assisting the Head Gardener, grounds/estate maintenance.
  • Looking after a fleet of cars
  • Liaising with security providers and monitoring systems.
  • Pool maintenance alongside contractor and existing team
  • Help with caring for the family pets.
  • Machinery maintenance.
  • Helping/serving when entertaining
  • Key holding and security 
  • Assisting in overseeing projects and building work 
  • Assisting in looking after the pets and animals of the employers (sole charge in the employers absence).
  • occasional teenage/children’s activities supervision.
  • School runs
  • Running errands (post office, dry cleaning, shopping, vets etc)
  • Driving

Start date: Flexible for the right couple  

Working week: 5 days, including weekends with Tuesday and Wednesdays off (Weekends off when the family are not in residence)

Accommodation: 3 bed cottage located on-site with a garden. Pets are welcome

Driving: ideally both are confident drivers. A car is provided for work purposes

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 combined gross annual salary, negotiable depending on experience
