Live In Gardener / Maintenance Job - Rutland - June / July Start - 2 bed cottage accommodation - £30,000+ gpa
Our client is looking for a Gardener / Maintenance person to help look after a family country home in Rutland and work as part of the wider estate team. The property is part of a shooting estate and sheep farm - Habitat Manager / Game Keeper and Shepherd also employed. The main house has 8 bed rooms and is Grade 2 listed and there are additional external buildings, two with accommodation and an indoor swimming pool. This position is to replace their current Gardener who is retiring after 30 years and who will be available for a hand over.
There is scope for additional employment for a partner, possibly Housekeeping / Cleaning, Gardening or Property Maintenance but this is not essential.
The property is used as a holiday home and shooting lodge in the winter and is used by extended members of the same family.
Duties will include:
Gardening - needs to be an experienced Gardener who can keep the grounds and garden kept to a high standard and there are 10 acres of garden including 2-3 acres of formal garden.
The garden includes a lake, woodland, lawns, borders and a tennis court.
All plant care, planting, pruning, hedge trimming, lawn care and woodland work
Use and care of garden machinery.
General household hands on maintenance - making sure the property is kept well maintained year round
Keeping the outside area of the house clean and tidy
General estate work - assisting the Habitat Manager / Gamekeeper as and when required and working as part of the wider estate team
Cottage accommodation provided on the estate - council tax and utility bills to be discussed as part of the overall package - pets considered

Full-time role normally 5 days normally Monday to Friday with some help on weekends needed when the family are in residence
£30,000+ GPA
