Personal Assistant / Household Administrator Job - Nr Hereford, Herefordshire - start ASAP - up to £40,000 GPA - full-time and office based only
A Personal Assistant / Household Administrator is sought to fully support a busy private estate in Herefordshire. The Principles are friendly, dynamic but meticulous, so this role would only suit a candidate with previous experience in a similar role.
The family are looking for someone who wants to engrain with the family long-term and enjoys reasonable diversity in their working life, as the position would encompass administration for both the domestic home and aspects of the working farm.
The position would be based on the Herefordshire estate, working from the Estate Office. This is a 360-degree role to support the Principles in all matters relating to their Herefordshire estate.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Overseeing and managing all household utility providers
- Paying of bills - keeping detailed paper trails and ledgers
- Creating and maintaining filing systems
- Overseeing / organising personal appointments as well as business appointments and maintaining the household calendar
- Administrative and organisational support to the Principles and their employees where required
- Farm business administration
- Overseeing building works and external contractors and being the point of contact on site
- Liaising with the Principle’s EA and estate management team and wider estate staff to ensure the home runs seamlessly
- Organising and overseeing on site events
- Various household research projects
- Undertaking all other usual PA duties relating to the house and estate
Skills:
- Exceptionally organised, with an absolute eye for detail
- Practical with good common sense
- Discreet, will be required to sign a binding NDA
- Enthusiastic, friendly, with a sense of humour
- No-task-is-too-small ethos
- Ability to confidently handle multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
- Efficient and always diligent
- Excellent time management
- Exceptional initiative
- Able to work autonomously as well as being a team player
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power-point, etc
Experience:
- Ideally 3 years PA or operations experience, preferably in high intensity position(s)
- Proven extensive events, travel and logistics planning
- Complicated diary management
- Experience working with and managing external contractors
- Basic accountancy, including account reconciliation – understanding of Zero beneficial
- An interest in the countryside and farming is preferable, but not essential
Hours and package:
- Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, with flexibility to include evenings and weekends for urgent matters or emergencies - office based only
- 21 days holiday + Bank Holidays
- Standard pension (NEST)
- Start date: immediate
- Up to £40,000 gross per annum, with salary dependent on candidate experience
