Live in or Live out Child friendly Housekeeper in Burford, Oxfordshire
A lovely family is looking to hire a child friendly housekeeper to help with their eight-bedroom house. The family has two school age children and two dog pets. The role will be split 80 % housekeeping, 10% animals and 10% childcare with some extra childcare during school holidays.
You will be working alongside a full staffed house.
Duties include:
- Cleaning
- Laundry, Washing and Ironing
- Weekly Ocado food shopping
- House management – monitoring and ordering supplies, ensuring all household equipment is in good working order, listing odd jobs to be done, changing lightbulbs etc
- Keep the house organised and tidy
- Linen and wardrobe management
- Childcare: shared and sole charge – occasional cooking for the children, school runs and babysitting
- Helping the family when they entertain
- Running errands such as dry cleaning, household shopping and making sure the cars are cleaned on a weekly basis
- Letting in and liaising with contractors
- Animals – help with dogs and the children have ponies which live off-site so equine experience is a bonus, but not essential.
The right person must have bags of initiative and take pride in their role with a genuine interest in maintaining the property and a desire to exceed expectations. Someone with a meticulous eye for detail, good housekeeping experience, some childcare experience, flexibility, proactiveness, enjoys working in a team and has a happy and calm disposition.
The family is happy to consider a couple. If a couple, it is essential that one of the individuals can complete DIY jobs around the house and gardens as well as be competent with general garden duties. Also, full driving license is crucial as may be asked to do airport runs or other driving jobs. A car will be provided for work related duties. You will need your own transport for personal use.
House: 8 bedrooms
Accommodation: 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom cottage and own garden. You can bring your partner or pets. Utility bills are included.
Days & Hours: Monday to Friday, occasionally weekend help; 50 hours a week with flexible hours
Salary: £40,000 gross per annum - negotiable
Salary for couple: £70,000 gross per annum
